Barker Steel and Harris Rebar Together - One Year of Success

In November of 2007 Barker Steel Company, Inc. entered into an agreement with Harris Rebar Inc. to form a new entity called Barker Steel LLC - a Harris Rebar company.  That entity is a combination of Barker Steel Company, Inc.'s and Harris Rebar Inc.'s Bethlehem, PA and Rochester, MA rebar fabrication operations.  Harris Rebar is a wholly owned subsidiary of Nucor Corporation (NYSE: NUE).

The transaction brought together the talents of two experienced and seasoned companies and created a powerful new company. Barker Steel LLC continues to be led and managed by Bob and Bill Brack (Senior Executive and President, respectively) and the fine management teams of Barker Steel and Harris Bethlehem and Rochester.  Barker Steel LLC now has the ability to provide even better customer service and technical capacity to fully service all of your construction needs.  Barker Steel opted to join with Harris for many reasons. "Harris Rebar is a company that shares many of the same philosophies as Barker.  They value employees, customer service, and are dedicated to being an industry leader," said Bill Brack.  In addition, Harris and Barker share a deep understanding of customer needs.  Together with our technical expertise, this enables us to transform the steel we purchase from a basic commodity into differentiated, value-added products.
